Clinical Trials Information Services Coordinator

    Located in the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) Building in Parkville, Cancer Trials Australia (CTA) is a member-based, not-for-profit organisation which provides a comprehensive oncology clinical trial administrative service for single and multi-site trials for its clinical members located in several states.  

    Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking an Information Services Coordinator to take responsibility for collating, analysing, and reporting clinical trial data.  This role also coordinates CTA’s clinical trial feasibility process for our Members, in close collaboration with pharmaceutical companies and Contract Research Organisations.  Additional responsibilities include organising and minuting several Oncology/Haematology tumour stream teleconferences per month, leading to improved accrual rates to active trials.

    This role provides an excellent opportunity for graduates in Life Sciences, with some prior work experience, looking for an entry level role from which to begin a career in clinical trials-related research.

    Essential Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Life Sciences or related field
  • An ability to collate, manipulate and analyse data, with an unerring eye for detail and accuracy
  • An ability to multitask while meeting competing deadlines is essential
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence others
  • Demonstrable initiative and ability to adapt to challenges in work-related activities
  • Able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently

    Highly Desirable Requirements:

  • Exposure to, and good understanding of, the clinical trials process
  • At least 1 year’s work experience in a customer service or administrative role
  • Experience in database and/or software development
