Karratha Operations Supervisor

An exciting opportunity exists for a Full-Time Karratha Operations Supervisor to join a national organisation delivering first class service and products to major Oil & Gas, Marine and Defence customers. 

As an Operations Supervisor, your main duty is to ensure that the company’s operations are managed in a safe, efficient and profitable manner, while satisfying clients requirements and ensuring that all the inspection and servicing of safety equipment is conducted in a timely manner under the relevant Australian Standards and this role will be reporting to the Operations Manager.

Duties Involved

  • Assume overall site responsibility of occupational health, safety and environmental compliance with relevant legislation, together with the promotion of high safety standards to company personnel.
  • Grow and develop a Technical team across multiple skill bases & work disciplines.
  • Assist in the preparation of customer quotations & identifying remedial work.
  • Responsible for successfully compiling and distributing job packs and help ops support where necessary to understand their contents.
  • Ensure frequent and complete reporting to the ops support team on the status of work being completed.
  • Ensure that all service and sales quotes are quoted and through Greentree.
  • Update all leads and opportunities into Greentree.
  • Cooperate with the technical team and share information and cross-training technicians across the organization.
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations and briefings.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports.
  • Document processes in an accurate manner.
  • Develop strategies to increase turnover and profitability as agreed with your line Manager.
  • Achieve the agreed profitability on each major project as budgeted.
  • Review non – conformances and develop solutions and corrective actions.
  • Review cost control on all contracts and projects undertaken by the company.
  • Prepare customer quotations & identify additional service opportunities.
  • Promote the company’s growth and new business opportunities.
  • Willing to learn new Technical and Mechanical skills.
  • Occasional regional travel and offshore work required.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 5+ years supervisory experience mainly in the Marine, Safety and/or Offshore industry.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  •  Effective time management skills.
  • Superior decision-making skills, problem-solving skills and conflict-management abilities.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and have sound training and delegation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to learn new technical skills.
  • Ability to manage and implement the company’s budget processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound computer literacy, especially regarding spreadsheets and reporting.
  •  Excellent organisational skills. 

Desirable Criteria:

  • A proven track record in the Fire industry.
  • Excellent understanding of the Fire industry and /or Mechanical Services.
