Job Summary
This is an exciting and rewarding career opportunity for an experienced Intelligence Manager to join the Serco team at the new state-of-the-art Correctional Centre in Grafton.

The Clarence Correctional Centre is due to open in mid-2020, with a 1700 bed facility, making it the largest and most state-of-the-art correctional centre in Australia. Serco Australia has a 20 year contract to operate and maintain the centre, creating the opportunity for long-term, rewarding and secure employment with exciting career prospects in one of Australia’s most spectacular coastal and country locations.

About you
We are looking for an experienced Intelligence leader with the highest level of personal integrity who demonstrates Serco’s values and is passionate about making a positive difference every day. Your proven ability to work and create a culture of openness, trust and transparency, while promoting equality and removing barriers to diversity will ensure your success in this role. We are building a dynamic and experienced Intelligence team, and your ability to support new initiatives to enhance intelligence and security delivery are critical for success in this position.

About the opportunity
The key purpose of the Intelligence Manager is to provide timely intelligence to the General Manager and Security & Operations Manager in order to reduce risk and support informed decision making across the centre. You will play a key role in the development, coordination and management of the security and intelligence collection plan, manage and lead the members of the Clarence Correctional Centre intelligence team. You will provide direction and inspirational leadership to the intelligence business unit and play an active role in promoting intelligence activities across the centre. You will form part of the Security and Operations leadership team by partnering closely with senior key stakeholders to provide security intelligence advice and participate as a member of the centre’s security committee.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have demonstrated intelligence experience in a law enforcement, defence or a related industry
  • Ideally hold your Certificate III Correctional Practice, however this is not a mandatory requirement to be considered for this position
  • Be a highly experienced people leader with a proven ability to inspire
  • Understand the intelligence discipline on matters which affect the security and good order of a secure environment
  • Hold a high level of resilience with the ability to problem solve and make timely, informed and reasoned decisions
  • Have demonstrated experience working with sensitive and confidential information
  • Have proven experience in the use of information management systems
  • Have a natural ability to influence, negotiate and take the lead to resolve conflict
  • Be able to work collectively across the greater team to maintain the safety and security across the centre
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Maintains high level of integrity
