The Role

The City is seeking an experienced technical officer, with specialist skills in contract management in a parks, streetscapes and related asset maintenance environment.  The successful appointee will be responsible for:

  • The management of parks and streetscapes maintenance contracts within Parks and Conservation Management.
  • Assisting the Specialist Parks Contracts in contract development and procurement.
  • Acting as a point of contact for customers and stakeholders, responding to enquiries ensuring they are resolved.
  • Building  and maintaining relationships with customers and stakeholders to enable achievement of service excellence to the Community.
  • The provision of accurate technical advice in area of responsibility

 

Skills and Experience As a collaborative member of the Parks Contracts team, the position is accountable for the provision of quality outcomes in the management and delivery of parks, streetscape and related contracts in accordance with defined service levels. The successful appointee must be an adaptable, experienced  contract manager, with experience in parks and streetscape maintenance. They must also thrive working in a very busy and change driven organisation.   As such, applicants must be able to demonstrate through their CV, covering letter and addressing the selection criteria that they meet the following capabilities:

  1. Minimum Certificate III in a relevant discipline such as Horticulture, Turf maintenance and or demonstrated experience.
  2. Experience in a similar role, managing contracts, developing specifications and scope of works.
  3. Intermediate experience in the efficient utilisation of information systems and technology.
  4. Intermediate computing, numeracy and literacy skills.
  5. Intermediate organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
  6. Advanced customer service skills.
  7. Advanced communication and problem solving skills.
  8. Intermediate negotiation and influencing skills.
  9. Knowledge of the practical application of occupational health and safety measures in the workplace including hazard identification in parks and streetscape areas.
  10. National Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
  11. C Class Driver's Licence.

 

Applicants may be required to undergo a medical assessment to determine their fitness to carry out the duties of this position.
