Catering Industries Pty Ltd is a leading provider of contracted hospitality services (catering, cleaning and laundry) to Australia's health and aged care, education, government, corporate and resources sector.  We currently employ over 1,300 personnel across various operations in our active market.

Role summary:

We are seeking a Laundry Assistant to join the team at our client's aged care facility in Page, ACT. This is a part-time role, 3 hours per day - Monday to Friday.

Key Attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills - proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.
  • Dedication, enthusiasm and eye for detail.
  • Ability to follow systems and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Work, Health & Safety and Infection Control
  • High level of respect for the elderly and experience in aged care laundry/cleaning will be a bonus.
  • Flexible with working hours and need to cover shifts.

Duties Include: 

  • Washing, sorting, drying and folding personal clothes and linen
  • Maintain records of completion of schedule duties
  • Safe storage and use of detergents and cleaning agents used in correct quantities for each task
  • Contribute to a safe environment when undertaking duties ensuring equipment is not obscuring exits and passageways
  • Waste Management
  • Completing records and log books

Hours of Work:

This is a part-time role with varying shifts of up to 3 hours, Mon - Fri on offer. 

All successful applicants will receive a full company induction, on-going training and support from our highly experienced and hands-on management team.

Benefits:

Skills and experience

  • At 1 year's experience in a similar role - aged care experience highly regarded but not essential
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Collaborative and team player 
  • Ability to multi-task and complete tasks within deadlines
  • Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff and clients.
  • Must have own reliable transport.
