Commercial Manager

Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 kilometre rail line running from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, which includes 5.9 kilometres of twin tunnels under the Brisbane River and CBD.

It will deliver four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street and upgrades to Dutton Park and Exhibition stations.

The Commercial Manager provides strategic, tactical and commercial advice and support relating to the three major contracts for the Cross River Rail Project.

The position is required to interface with the broader project teams and the project’s external Advisors, to ensure robust commercial outcomes are achieved for the State of Queensland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development, implementation and management of commercial strategies and contract management frameworks that are required for the transition from procurement to delivery of the contract
  • Oversee the management of the contracting models relating to Cross River Rail (Public Private Partnership, Alliance and D&C) and transaction processes across the delivery of the contract work package, including the preparation and assurance of associated commercial, contract and budget documentation
  • Participate in commercial and contract negotiations in relation to the relevant contract work packages, ensuring that arrangements are in place to have them deliver the levels of service, performance and innovation expected from the project contracts under acceptable terms and cost
  • Analyse and advise on commercial issues as they arise in relation to the contract
  • Manage major and minor contract disputes in relation to the contract as requested by the Commercial Director
