Deputy Commercial Director

Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 kilometre rail line running from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills, which includes 5.9 kilometres of twin tunnels under the Brisbane River and CBD.

It will deliver four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street and upgrades to Dutton Park and Exhibition stations.

The Deputy Commercial Director provides strategic, tactical and commercial advice and support relating to external advice sought by the Delivery Authority and the administration of 3rd Party Agreements to which the Authority is a party.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development, implementation and management of commercial strategies and contract management frameworks that are required for obtaining external advice and ensuring compliance with 3rd Party Agreements during the transition from procurement to delivery of the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD), Rail Integration & Systems (RIS) and European Train Control System (ETCS) work packages while making certain that these arrangements are consistent with the overall the Delivery Authority commercial management framework
  • Facilitate the obtaining of legal and other advice for the Commercial Director in relation to 3rd party issues as they arise
  • Manage the budgets for External Advisors and report to the Commercial Director on a monthly basis.
  • Manage any claims or disputes which may arise in relation to the 3rd Party Agreements as requested by the Commercial Director
  • Actively represent the Delivery Authority on commercial matters during meetings with the wider project teams, Advisors and external stakeholders
  • Prepare internal reporting and briefing material regarding commercial issues and claims
  • Prepare reports or briefing notes to the Commercial Director and other senior management as required
