Marketing Assistant - Newswire (10 to 12 months fixed term contract)

Australian Associated Press has an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, efficient and highly organised Marketing Assistant to work across our Newswire brand.

Based at our headquarters in Rhodes, you will work closely with a small team to deliver marketing activities and solutions that enhance the existing customer’s experience, client retention as well as revenue generating campaigns.

You will also have an interest in digital marketing and a passion for enhancing the customer experience through engaging marketing communications. There will be plenty of opportunity to learn in this role and you will be key in enabling the sales team with the use of data to convert leads and prospects into loyal customers, making a direct impact in the success of the commercial team.

Duties

  • Assisting in the implementation of end-to-end online marketing campaigns including segmentation, tracking and analysis for the Editorial division and its businesses  
  • Contributing to the marketing and communications strategy
  • Contributing and executing the various aspects of the social media and content marketing strategy
  • Supporting product launches and ongoing promotion of existing products
  • Maintaining and updating AAP Newswire’s website and developing new content
  • Maintaining and monitoring the quality of data which are essential to the success of email marketing campaigns you will be executing
  • Writing engaging, effective and professional copy for all marketing communication pieces and placements, including EDMs, sales collateral and branded content
  • Assisting with the development of digital sales collateral from concept to design to production
  • Coordinating and preparing collateral for AAP sponsored events
  • Utilising Salefsorce, including approving campaigns and troubleshooting
  • Working closely with and supporting the Newswire Sales team

Skills/requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in a marketing role
  • Tertiary qualification in Communications or Marketing
  • Fantastic communication skills with the ability to work with a variety of different stakeholders
  • Copyright skills and an eye for design
  • Some knowledge of graphic and web design tools with graphic design experience an advantage
  • Basic understanding of web-design/HTML codes
  • Experienced or interested in a career in B2B marketing with a special interest in Marketing Automation
  • Interest or experience in editing video an advantage 
  • Knowledge of the news media landscape would be an advantage
