Product/ Design Engineer

RYCO Hydraulics is an Australian owned company that manufactures quality hydraulic hose, couplings and adaptors. The Company, founded in 1946, is now a global operation within Australia, New Zealand, USA, China, Malaysia and South Africa.

Please note: this role is currently based in Footscray and will be relocating to Derrimut in December 2019.

About the Role 

We have an excellent opportunity in our Footscray office for a Product/ Design Engineer to join our team. The purpose of this role is to undertake projects allocated by the Engineering Manager.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Plan and develop high quality products meeting RYCO and industrial standards 
  • Research, analysis and develop cost-effective engineering solutions
  • Validate product designs, document and recommend improvements 
  • Write SOP`s and work instructions to ensure products can be produced to design specification
  • Perform failure analysis of products
  • Recommend new processes and technologies to meet product design objectives
  • Ensure product design meets quality standards and customer needs
  • Identify product issues and provide appropriate resolutions
  • Maintain and service (of practical) R&D machinery
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times
  • Any other related tasks as directed by the Manager

Education, Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary engineering qualification
  • CAD drafting- Soild Works & AutoCad
  • Knowledge of HSEC legislation an advantage
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Quality Systems Processes 
  • 5 years relevant work experience
