Assistant Accountant

Join this driven and dynamic innovative technology business that focuses on the healthcare industry to support the finance team in managing the reporting requirements of a busy finance function. 

This is an all-encompassing role that will offer the opportunity to work across all aspects of accounting. 

You will be responsible for providing accurate and timely processing of financial operations and transactions whilst supporting the Finance team.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable
  • Raising invoices as appropriate, accurately allocating payments against open invoices on customer accounts, following up overdue payments.
  •  Assist with the preparation of various reports on invoice collections, outstanding receipts, invoicing of customers, revenue recognition.
Accounts Payable
  • Assist with the overflow of timely entry of supplier invoices, staff expense claims.
  • Assist with the preparation of related reports around scheduling of supplier payments and ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier payments.
Month End
  • Assistance with the preparation of journals to the Company’s general ledger using general ledger reconciliations
  • Calculation of monthly accruals and provisions
  • Assist the Financial Controller with cashflow planning
  • Assist with the preparation of weekly & monthly financial reporting requirements of the business
  • Preparation & management of Fixed Assets and Inventory registers
Business Reporting
  • Assist with the preparation of various business reports incl. Metrics reporting, sales reporting, sales analysis.
  • Assistance with the preparation of budgeting and forecasting as required.
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end reporting requirements including assistance with foreign company income tax returns
  •  Assistance with compliance reporting including, payroll tax & superannuation
You must be degree qualified in business or accounting and be at the early stages of studying your CPA or CA. Good technical accounting knowledge and experience across the transactional accounting processes will be required as well as an advanced level of excel.

As a meticulous, focussed individual who has high attention to detail, you must have strong communication skills and the confidence to deal with all levels of management.
