Volunteer Board Director – Mentis Assist
Mentis Assist is a Government funded, community managed, not-for-profit mental health service and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider that supports people with enduring mental illness and psychiatric disabilities.
Mentis Assist was founded in 1987 and is governed by a skills-based board of up to eight Directors.
We are seeking to fill current vacancies for two Volunteer Director positions on the Board.
The appointed Board members will be entitled to a three year term commencing from the AGM of the company to be held on 23rd October 2019. The role requires attendance at monthly board meetings and membership of at least one of the Board Sub-Committees. Some additional work in-between meetings should be anticipated with regard to financial, compliance and oversight issues.
Individuals with appropriate qualifications and experience in any of the following key areas are invited to submit expressions of interest:
- Corporate Governance
- Clinical Governance
- Risk Management
- Financial management
- Strategic Planning
- Human Resource Management
- Government Relations
- Information Technology
A strong working knowledge of the health and community services sector and established links with local communities would be an advantage.
