New Product Developer

Our client – an industry leader in Food Manufacturing is looking for a New Product Developer to join their team on a 6 – 12 months contract.

 

This role is responsible for delivering launches to agreed timeframe, NPD process and budget; ensuring Australian Food Safety Standards, Partner and Internal requirements are met and continuously strive to improve products and procedures through constant assessment of current work.

About you:

 

You will have completed a Food Science Technology Degree or similar;

You have a great track record of 2-3 years of experience in new product development;

You have excellent communication Skills;

You are an innovative thinker and agile learner;

You are a competent user of MS Project Manager and customer specification programs.
 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Work effectively in across functional setting to ensure timely delivery of projects and adherence to the NPD process. 

  • Follow the NPD process and procedures, ensuring the maintenance of process control documentation.

  • Deliver a legal and safe product through a firm understanding of legislative (eg. FSANZ, Trade Practices Act etc) and partner (eg. BRC, WQA) requirements.

  • Setting up and running factory trials and co-ordinating the evaluation and communication of results.

  • Running of product feasibility meetings with the Concept Developer to ensure that all products launching are feasible and will deliver a positive benefit to the business.

  • Finished Product Specification writing and Supplier PIF review.

  • Work cross functionally to drive continuous improvement through regularly reviewing materials, products and processes.

  • Actively support the Procurement and Operations teams in site specific initiatives that have been briefed.

  • Chair meetings as required and ensure minutes are sent out in a timely and professional manner

  • Ensure all team members and departments adhere to the NPD process and timeline. Any non-conformance to be highlighted to NPD Manager.

  • Ensure management of NPD gate process using MS project to track.

  • Ensure all projects adhere to process and all supporting documentation is complete.
