Our Finance team (part of the wider Corporate Services function) delivers essential finance operational services to the organisation, ensuring that Diabetes Victoria is able to continue to provide programs and assistance to Victorians impacted by diabetes. 

Working as part of a friendly team of 5, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Finance Manager on the accounting activities of the Finance Department and assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reports, annual statutory reports and ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Completing month end journals and reconciliations of general ledger accounts e.g. bank reconciliations, debtors, creditors, accruals, prepayments, payroll, revenue etc;
  • Preparing and lodging monthly business activity statements, annual Fringe Benefits Tax return and franking credits refund application with the ATO;
  • Assisting with the annual financial audit (internal and external) including preparation of all supporting documentation and reconciliations;
  • Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls;
  • Mentoring and assisting Finance Officers on the accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management functions; and
  • Assisting with the organisational budgeting process.

Ideally you will have previous experience in a similar role with exposure to both accounts payable and receivable, as well as demonstrated reconciliation skills. You can demonstrate high levels of accountability and integrity, as well as a renowned work ethic focused on getting the job done. A true team player, you will be helpful and have excellent customer service. Experience using a medium sized accounting package or experience with Greentree accounting software is highly desirable.
