APS3 Administration/Data Officer

Rare opportunity to work for a small Federal Government Agency until June 2020 with possible extension!

Your new company
This Government agency preserves and collects Australian Government Records that reflect our history and identity. There also responsible for preserving Australia’s history and play a key role to ensure that the Australian Government and its Departments are effective and accountable to the people.

Your new role
This Government Department has recently experienced an unprecedented and significant increase in workloads and new enquiries. As a result, they are in need of a number of Administration/ Data Officers who are able to assist with the caseload.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Digitise paper records using scanners and associated computer equipment (including preparing files for digitisation and re-assembling files
  • Support the Agencies Preservation Digitisation Standards
  • Check and process images against relevant documentation
  • Maintain related equipment and work in a high volume, routine, screen-based environment
  • Accurately enter and retrieve data from electronic systems within established procedures and practices
  • Prepare routine documentation and correspondence using Microsoft Office (e.g. Word and Excel)
  • Undertake manual handling tasks, such as lifting and moving records
  • Work closely and productively with other staff
  • Contribute to the development of processes and guidelines
  • Apply the principles of APS Values, Code of Conduct, workplace diversity principles, work health and safety and participative management within a work and team environment


What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience in a similar role within the Australian Public Service. You will be efficient and able and meet prescribed deadlines. Most importantly, you will maintain high-level attention to detail and understand the importance of data entry and digitisation.

Previous experience in a Federal Government Department and an active Baseline Security Clearance will be highly regarded.
