Case Worker - SDN Brighter Futures - Burwood

About Brighter Futures

SDN Brighter Futures is a government funded voluntary program available to families who have children under 9 years old, or who are expecting a child. This program supports families going through challenges that are affecting their children, whether it be mental health issues, drug and alcohol misuse, family violence or even just the need to work on parenting skills. Sometimes a little extra help is all that's needed to prevent family problems from growing into stressful or dangerous situations.

About The Role

Provide an integrated case management approach for families engaged with the Brighter Futures Program with the aim of reducing risk and increasing safety for children.

SDN Children's Services is looking for a Case Worker at Inner West Sydney - Burwood. This is a permanent full-time position.

About You

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation
  • University qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or other relevant degree
  • Demonstrated case management and assessment experience working with children and families with complex child protection issues
  • Excellent relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills with experience working with a range of stakeholders including families, government and community groups
  • Knowledge and understanding of a variety of different cultural and religious groups
  • Experience and knowledge of theoretical approaches when working with children and families including child development theory
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance Number
  • Current driver's license with comprehensively insured vehicle (desirable)
