Are you looking for an opportunity to move into legal professional development and use your legal experience and knowledge in a creative way?

We now have an opportunity for a highly motivated lawyer to join our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) team as a Program Manager. This is a full-time position.

Leo Cussen Centre for Law is a leading education and training organisation operating in Victoria since 1972.  Its key activities are the provision of professional development training programs to the legal profession and the provision of practical legal training to law graduates as the pathway to admission to legal practice.

The CPD team designs, plans, advertises and co-ordinates the delivery of Continuing Professional Development programs including workshops, seminars, conferences and intensives for a range of participants including lawyers, legal support staff and other professionals. We also provide programs for the corporate sector.

Reporting to the Director – CPD and working within a talented team of lawyers, coordinators and administrators, you will research potential program topics and liaise with members of the legal profession to secure their agreement and availability to present topics. You will also work within our team to co-ordinate speakers and topics as part of a diverse range of legal professional development programs.

Being a highly interactive role, you will liaise with leading members of the legal profession and related industries. Being a collaborative role, you will be a hard-working team player.

This role will ideally suit an experienced lawyer with at least 3 years PAE.

As an ideal candidate, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong communication skills and polished presentation
  • Highly effective organisational, supervisory and project management skills
  • Attention to detail and dedication to completing tasks
  • Sound computer skills including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong legal knowledge and understanding of the national legal profession

A minimum 3 years PAE and eligibility to hold a current practising certificate are prerequisites for this role. Current networks within the Victorian legal profession is highly desirable.
