About the Role

The Adelaide newsroom is seeking an experienced, proactive Reporter with proficient skills and capability in newsgathering and story production, to generate news and current affairs stories across all ABC platforms. You will contribute original story ideas to busy newsroom teams, work collaboratively under tight deadlines, and contribute to stories and conversations that reflect the broader Australian diversity landscape.

Under the direction of the News Editor, you will:

  • Research, write, compile and present accurate stories across digital and broadcast platforms
  • Identify suitable sources and conduct interviews to support output and story material
  • Produce content in text, audio, pictorial and video form using a variety of cross platform systems
  • Present high quality news bulletins and live-to-air reports

About You

You are a creative self-starter with proven ability in contributing original story ideas and angles. In this exciting role, you will also bring:

  • Proficient presentation skills for multimedia programming
  • An understanding of the digital news environment, multimedia editing and production systems
  • Experience in use of social media as a newsgathering and research tool and to connect to audiences
  • Confident with relevant software, production systems and reporting tools.
  • Proficiency in a second language is also desirable
