Non Executive Directors - DataGene

DataGene Limited delivers innovative, pre-competitive services to the dairy herd improvement industry.  DataGene enable farmers to make timely and effective data driven decisions in genetics and herd management.  The Board of DataGene is responsible for approving strategic and operating plans and setting performance targets.  The Board ensures policies and systems are in place to manage risk and ensure high standards of accountability, ethical behaviour and legal compliance in accordance with DataGene’s compliance framework.  The Board is currently made up of 7 directors with a range of skills and backgrounds in line with the needs of the industry and set by its constitution.

In line with the DataGene constitution and schedule of Director nominations, and due to the unexpected resignation of a Director mid-term, we are now seeking 2 applicants with the following skills and experience:

  • Director – Genetic Supply Chain - Significant experience in the genetic supply chain, including breeding programs, milk recording or pedigree products and services. A background in transforming science based products into farmer services and an understanding of contemporary genetic technologies are highly regarded as is knowledge of phenotypic data collection services.
  • Director - Milk Producer - Strong background in milk production with a comprehensive understanding of dairy farm systems, and demonstrated capability in identifying and evaluating technology, including knowledge of modern herd improvement services. It is expected that these positions are filled by existing milk producers.
