Events Officer - Chermside - Make a difference!

  • $45 per hour + 9.5% superannuation
  • 1 October 2019 until 30 June 2020
  • Chermside Location | 37.5 hour week | Mon - Fri

Grow your career within the Disability and Federal Government sectors! An exciting opportunity is available for a Events Officer to join a large Federal Government department based in Chermside.  

As an Events Officer, you will play a critical role in assisting with the coordination and implementation of events strategy and associated logistics.

What kind of responsibilities will I have? 

  • Assist in the preparation and logistics of a variety of events including forum sessions, conferences and webinars
  • Manage the events inbox and triage / escalate
  • Review and provide advice on communications resources such as presentation
  • Build and maintains relationships with internal / external stakeholders
  • Provide mentorship or supervisory support to team members and identify training needs
  • Provide input to briefing and event related documentation and undertake specific research
  • Manage data collection and identify associated risks / trends

Due to the nature of the role, some travel may be required. 

What are the benefits for this role? 

  • Generous hourly rate of pay - approx. $45 per hour
  • Commencement date – 1 October 2019 until 30 June 2020 (subject to business requirements) 
  • Online timesheet submissions & ability to be paid weekly
  • Full time hours - 37.5 hours (8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday)
  • Chermside location - close to shopping precincts / street parking / public transport hubs 
  • Opportunity for assignment extension and career progression
  • Ability to do something rewarding and help create a more inclusive Australia

What kind of experience/skillset are you looking for?

HOBAN is seeking applications with demonstrated event management experience and a contemporary attitude towards disability. 

  • Proven ability to build and maintain internal / external stakeholder relationships
  • Proven ability to analyse information and align decisions to business requirements
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills - verbal / written
  • Proven ability to engage in negotiation
  • Previous experience within an implementation / engagement environment  (highly desirable) 
  • Previous experience within non-for-profit, disability, government sector (highly desirable)
  • Current C Class drivers licence and ability to travel to travel both intrastate and interstate (essential)
