Events Officer

  • APS5 position with exciting Federal Government Agency
  • Contract until 30th June 2020
  • Opportunity for intrastate and interstate travel

The role

The Events Officer position sits within the Event Management and Logistics Team, a national, virtual team within this Federal government Agency. The Events Officer works with a high level of autonomy to support the Agency and will assist the coordination and implementation of a strategic and proactive events strategy and associated logistics, to raise awareness and understanding of the Agency in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Identify key opportunities for appropriate attendance at events
  • Provide logistical support to business areas as required to maintain an efficient approach to the delivery of proactive and nationally consistent engagement activities
  • Assisting in the preparation and logistics of a range of events for the Agency including sessions, forums, conferences and webinars
  • Contributing to and taking ownership of data management, including the collation of stakeholder mapping and reporting of feedback
  • Providing input to briefing and event related documents, undertaking research as required.

About you

A key attribute to your success will be your ability to develop positive working relationships across the organisation whilst confidently delivering on set goals.

You will also possess:

  • Previous experience in events management, stakeholder engagement, facilitation and communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment that is high paced / regularly changing
  • An understanding of the workings of government / federal government will also be beneficial
  • Positive contemporary attitudes to people with disability highly desirable
  • Exceptional analytical, presentation and communication skills
