Youth Case Worker

Are you looking for a role in an iconic youth organisation that gives back to the community, with a strong strategic plan and vision for growth? Built on a legacy of over 80 years of Police and community partnerships, Police Citizens Youth Clubs NSW is committed to empowering young people to reach their potential.
 

  • Bateau Bay
  • 10 week term commencing:
    10 September to 19 December 2019
  • Monday to Thursday (total hours)
  • $30.22 per hour


Working with a dedicated trainer and a small group of young people who have disengaged from school, you will support them through flexible and responsive case work, providing innovative engagement activities.

As a mentor and role model you be in the classroom, providing on-site support to students to deal with issues and keep focused on their education and long term goals. You will a focus on cultivation of interest in self care and life skills, awareness of social and cultural issues, and development of traits such as optimism, that are central factors to support youth engagement.

You will provide professional support and services to young people who are at greatest risk of long term disadvantage by assisting them to gain employment, return to school or TAFE.

To participate in this rewarding career with us you will need:-

  • Certificate in Youth, Social or Community Work
  • 2 – 5 years in social work arena, in mediation, conflict resolution and counselling of Young People.
  • Capability in working with youth who have experienced mental health, homelessness, drug and alcohol and family conflict.
