Employment Support Coordinator

The Adelaide University Union (AUU) is looking for an organised, passionate and enthusiastic Employment Support Coordinator to join our dynamic and creative team.

About us:

The AUU is the key provider of social, cultural, and support services to all students of the University of Adelaide.  We aim to offer members access to a range of exciting programs, activities and events that engage students on all levels across the three campuses at the University of Adelaide.

Student Care is an incorporated organisation providing student advocacy and welfare services on behalf of the AUU for the students of the University of Adelaide.

These services include:

  • Advocacy, advice and support in complaints, grievances and student rights issues both within the University and involving external agencies
  • Academic, personal and financial information, support and referral
  • Employment and training support
  • Loans and small grants
  • Subsidised accommodation
  • Tax help and legal assistance

About the Role:

The Employment Support Coordinator offers an advisory and support service with a specific focus on assisting students to find part time, temporary and casual job opportunities which supports them whilst undertaking their University study.

In addition the role is responsible for the identification and implementation of complimentary training programs that will assist students to gain employment. Some of these training courses include but are not limited to First Aid, responsible service of alcohol, barrister and forklift training.

About You:

We are seeking an individual who has experience working with diverse groups of people from a variety of cultural backgrounds and a variety of ages and work experience.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in either recruitment or human resources along with experience in an advisory related service.

You will have the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders, manage competing deadlines within an appointment based schedule and develop comprehensive resources to assist students with their job search prospects.
