ARE YOU A DEDICATED AND PASSIONATE TRAINER WITH A BACKGROUND IN IT?

The IT Training and Development Officer is a qualified training specialist, who in consultation with the IT Team and key stakeholders, researches, identifies, designs, develops and delivers quality, effective, timely and innovative training solutions that are responsive to employee needs across the IT function within council. This position will further maintain and update IT working instructions, workflows, documents and knowledgebases to ensure consistency and accuracy of information and service delivery.  

Our successful candidate will need:

  • Certificate IV Training and Assessing at a minimum with tertiary qualifications in learning and development, or education, or organisational development / change management, with experience / qualifications in Project Management and Service Management (ITIL) also well regarded.
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience in a related role, designing and delivering tailored adult training programs with multiple delivery techniques to a diverse customer base across the full IT function / services.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating training and development effectiveness against organisational objectives, adapting delivery to stakeholder responses / requirements, and to emerging learning technologies and new training methodologies.
  • A strong ability to interpret complex systems and device information and translate and structure it into appropriate meaningful language and artefacts for the intended audience.
  • Strong experience driving maturity of organisational capacity / systems capability and outcomes.
  • Strong ability to be change ready, quickly learn, and support in the testing and upgrading of systems.
  • A strong understanding of change management, adult learning principles and communication techniques and methodologies, with demonstrated experience translating this into effective learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to display tact, personal judgement, discretion and integrity.
