About the role

 

The Corporate Services department is seeking an administration officer to administer the Hospitals equipment and to assist in the administration of the equipment programmed maintenance schedule.  The Equipment Officer will provide support to all areas of the Public Hospital requiring assistance with equipment and assets both general and/or medical equipment. Other duties will include: 

  • Assist in ensuring the currency of the data included in the Building Engineering Information Management System (BEIMS) including the Asset Management, Maintenance and Programmed Maintenance modules
  • Assist in the operational administration of medical equipment
  • Determine the programmed maintenance status of equipment, particularly medical equipment in consultation with key stakeholders, and, where necessary, relocate equipment to the Bio-medical or Engineering section for completion of corrective or programmed maintenance
  • Assist in the ordering, receipt, delivery, storage, dispatch and disposal of equipment and other resources and ensure the timely and efficient movement of those items as required.
  • Arrange furniture moves in accordance with the guidelines from the Facilities and Contracts and Procurement Departments as well as Capital Projects staff.
  • Assist, where appropriate, in conducting compliance audits / assessments as required.

 

What you bring

 

  • Sound administrative skills
  • Demonstrated initative, motivation and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • A basic understanding of hospital terminology and general equipment titles and functions.
  • A general knowledge of medical equipment types.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of computer based applications, including the BEIMS system, or the ability to become proficient in their use.
  • Sound communication, negotiation and liaison skills.
  • A good understanding of Infection Control and WHS issues and requirements in regards to moving and cleaning equipment.
  • General skills to undertake basic (unlicensed) equipment repairs
