About the role:
The Risk Officer will assist and contribute to risk management programs, processes and practices in accordance with APRA regulations and prudential requirements and other industry standards as appropriate.   
The Risk Officer will be responsible for:

  • Logging incidents, hazards and near misses in the system
  • Maintaining and monitoring the organisation’s First Aid Officer register
  • Maintaining and monitoring the organisations Fire Warden register
  • Administration work for the Health and Safety Committee (Agenda/Minutes)
  • Registering and following up on quarterly WHS inspections (including logging action items into the system
  • Registering and monitoring monthly duress testing
  • Processing of Risk and Compliance (R&C) purchase orders, invoices and expense claims
  • General maintenance of R&C system content
  • Maintaining R&C document control requirements (i.e. policy register, obtaining record numbers and updating other systems as required
  • Administration for R&C team meetings, including development of action plans
  • Assisting the Risk Manager with risk reviews/risk assessments and other risk related activities

As Risk Officer, you will have the ability to understand, interpret and apply the Private Health Insurance (PHI) Act and Rules and have a background in financial services, and in particular you will also possess the following key skills:

  • Knowledge of APRA Standards
  • Knowledge of Australian Competition and Consumer Law
  • Knowledge of the WHS Act
  • Knowledge of AS4801 and ISO:31000 Risk Management Standards
  • An understanding of risk management technology systems
  • Effective computer and keyboard skills
