Loan Kit Assembler (WA)

Summary 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced customer service/ loan kit assembler to work in our Smith & Nephew warehouse in WA.

Reporting to our WA Supply Chain Manager, the Loan Kit Assembler is responsible for receiving, inspecting and dispatching of surgical instruments and devices.

Essential Job Functions

  • Pick, pack, check and receive all stock, including loan sets
  • Receive process and dispatch loan set/ kit returns
  • Inspect quality of returned material/equipment
  • Identify and confirm status of returned items in SAP
  • Decontamination processing of returned equipment
  • Assist with stock rotation of inventory and remove expired items where necessary
  • Assist with cycle counts and or stock takes
  • Identify discrepancies in bookings, ensuring Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) takes place on all occasions to minimise Company risk
  • Perform domestic & International shipping duties and ensure delivery information is communicated to relevant departments
  • Respond to Customer and Branch enquiries in a timely manner
  • Assist the Customer Service team with enquiries to ensure that bookings are processed correctly

Education

  • Bachelor Degree, desirable
  • Certificate in warehousing and distribution or equivalent

Experience

  • Proven experience in a logistics or distribution environment
  • Experience in loan set/ kit operations
  • Experience working with contaminated materials
  • Exposure to the medical device industry, desirable

Technical Knowledge & Competencies

  • Understanding of Hospital CSSD process, desirable
  • Good understanding of the order fulfillment process in Australian public and private healthcare system
  • Good computer proficiency in MS Office
  • Working knowledge of SAP, desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to a high level of customer service for internal and external customers
  • Ability to work under pressure, and without direct supervision
  • Can use initiative and follow instructions accurately
  • Being physically capable of being on feet for several hours a day
  • Ability to lift and shift heavy items
  • Good mechanical comprehension and hands on ability with surgical instruments
