Applications are sought from Fellowed General Practitioners seeking to upskill and provide advanced skill services to New South Wales rural and regional health care settings.


A 52  week training position exists at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital for advanced skills training in General Practice Anaesthesia.


About the Position

You will provide high care to patients of Hunter New England Local Health District whilst working towards completion of General Practice Procedural Training. Training posts are open to Fellowed General Practitioners seeking up-skilling to take on Hospital appointments as GP VMO's with Procedural (Advanced) skills.


  1. Able to demonstrate excellence in the provision of clinical care, including evidence of commitment to formal training, knowledge of evidence based medicine and commitment to passing personal learning to others
  2. Ability to demonstrate evidence of being a good communicator and collaborator including oral and written skills, a sensitive approach to clear communication along with the ability to network and operate within a multidisciplinary network and stakeholders in a variety of settings
  3. Demonstrated commitment to providing General Practice services within a rural community including a genuine intention and commitment to provide hospital based procedural services in a rural location.
  4. Current or previous extra-curricular activities that support rural healthcare (in NSW) including additional rural terms/post will be highly regarded.
