Middle Office Administrator

Purpose of your role

To be the support link between the front office dealing teams and the operations teams globally and to be a liaison point for client queries.

What you do

  • Assist both clients and dealers to correct payment errors and/or initiate investigations.
  • Initiate high numbers of phone calls/e-mails to external clients regarding failed payments/investigations etc.
  • Actioning/follow up of failed payment advices.
  • Allocation of funds to client deals using proof of payment advices.
  • Moving funds between deals upon request, marking deals as received and clearing payments.
  • Liaising with clients to recover losses on reversals.
  • Monitoring the part payments report and adjusting deals as required.
  • Monitoring of the suspense account to clear high value entries and attempting to locate owners of unidentified funds.
  • Reporting to Credit Risk on 7 days delinquent report.
  • Contacting clients regarding 3 day + delinquents.
  • Issue USD Bank of New York MT103 requests.
  • Adding beneficiary’s when required.
  • Ad hoc duties as required.

What you bring

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and phone skills
  • Processing skills – Strong attention to detail, high work rate and low error count;
  • Workflow management – Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage deadlines;
  • Strong customer focus
  • Risk focused – people, company & customer 
  • Swift payment knowledge is an advantage (MT103, MT199 and MT942)
  • Financial markets or finance related debt recovery experience would be an advantage
