About the role

This role forms part of our technical service team providing high level services from our in-house workshop to our internal and external customers that includes preventive maintenance service, calibration and repair of portable equipment and the installation of fixed work stations used in the dental industry.  Occasionally, it provides support and assistance to the field service team.

Your primary objectives will be:

  • Working both individually and as part of team, undertake technical service and support of the Company’s products.
  • Positively influence customer satisfaction by providing timely and proficient technical service and advice, for internal and external customers.
  • Positively influence the financial goals of the Company through cost and inventory control, accurate and timely completion of work through to invoice and the promotion of the Company’s products and services.

Your specific responsibilities will be:

  • Complete technical service and maintenance of the equipment manufactured, sold and serviced by the Company
  • Provide technical advice and support to both our internal stakeholders and to our customers
  • Ensure that all contact with customers, whether internal or external, is of a high standard.  This includes maintaining your personal appearance and the condition of the workshop and the standard of communication with the customers
  • Work collaboratively with all colleagues 
  • Attend to work both proactively and as scheduled by the Service Support staff
  • 100% accuracy on use and the recording of parts used for service work, measured by stock take variations.  Whenever parts are required you must make every practical effort to use part numbers in your communication
  • Promote the Company’s service offers to customers at every opportunity
  • Care and maintenance of all tools, parts, equipment supplied by the Company in accordance with the Company procedures and policies.
  • Ensure every work area is kept clean and tidy and in accordance with quality control procedures
  • Complete reports as requested in a timely manner for all service and support activities
  • Provide feedback to Management about issues that have an impact on technical service. 

About you

This position will suit someone with:

  • Tertiary qualification in a maintenance discipline covering both mechanical and electronic principles
  • Demonstrated experience working under pressure and to deadlines
  • Self-motivated and self-management ability
  • Solid understanding of fault-finding procedures  
  • Effective communicator
  • Strong organizational ability
  • Established rapport building and relationship management skills
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft suite
  • IT networking skills desirable
  • Physically fit to undertake manual tasks and handling
