About the Opportunity:

Reflections is currently seeking a Full Time, Fixed Term (minimum 10 months – maternity leave coverage) Financial Accountant to work at our corporate offices based in Carrington. This broad accounting role includes management and financial reporting, fixed asset and project accounting, systems and business support.  Your technical skills paired with a can-do attitude will ensure your success, producing highly accurate information, meeting deadlines and reporting requirements.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist in completing monthly accounting functions to ensure that deadlines and timetables are met.
  • Engage in the development of a business intelligence analysis tool, including revenue, occupancy, labour, etc.
  • Lead the preparation of annual financial statements and year end audit processes in accordance with both GPFRs and NSW Treasury requirements.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding financial reporting and related compliance matters.
  • Monitor and assist in the development and review of financial management systems and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Review project costing and maintain ledgers including asset disposals, impairment and/or reviews of remaining life.

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

Essential:

  • Degree in Accounting or higher
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting and financial operations and software
  • Extensive experience in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver quality financial services in a legislative and strategic framework

Desirable:

  • Experience within NSW State Government sector, including NSW Treasury reporting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains or similar accounting software
  • Experience in the tourism / accommodation industry
