Ground Operations Officer - Casual (Maningrida)

Airnorth, part of the Bristow group is now the major aviation operator in Northern Australia. The company operates over 300 scheduled RPT and charter departures weekly, to over 20 destinations in Australia and abroad. In addition to scheduled departures, Airnorth operates contract and ad-hoc charter services for a wide variety of companies undertaking mining, defence and government activity.

 

An opportunity is available in our Ground Operations Department for a Casual Ground Operations Officer to join our front line customer service and ramp team at our Maningrida outport. The role currently works a daily split shift roster, working approximately 4 hours per shift and in line with our current flying schedule.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Load and unloading of all Airnorth and associated company aircraft;
  • Freight management;
  • Maintenance of all airside ground service equipment;
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment;
  • Escort passengers to/from aircraft;
  • Daily liaison with the operations control centre in Darwin;
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulations associated with passenger/baggage acceptance ie Dangerous goods; and
  • Respond to passenger queries.

 

As a result we are looking for applicants with:

  • A demonstrated and strong commitment to safety;
  • Superior communication and negotiation skills;
  • A passion for customer service;
  • Flexible with hours of work and available to work public holidays
  • Well disciplined, articulate, thoughtful and pro-active;
  • Intermediate to advanced computer & keyboard skills;
  • An ability to work unsupervised;
  • Be able to hold and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card and a Dangerous Goods Certificate; and
  • A full manual NT driver license
