Mental Health Worker - Senior (Child and Youth Mental Health Services)

The Role

A position has become available for an Occupational Therapist/Psychologist/Social Worker – Senior (Child and Youth Mental Health Services) to join the Early Psychosis (EP) teams with Child and Youth Mental Health Services at Gold Coast Health (GCH).

You will take responsibility for

Providing advanced consumer-focused and evidence-based clinical care for young people (15-25 years) experiencing first episode psychosis including:

  • Delivering assessment, consultation and treatment
  • Managing complex caseloads
  • Participating in professional development activities
  • Leading and coordinating clinical care and providing clinical supervision or leadership as required
  • Fostering commitment to Patient and Family Centred Care
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Contributing to strategic planning, team performance and service improvement activities to continually develop an innovative contemporary mental health service

Requirements for the role

  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work
  • AHPRA or relevant professional board registration
  • Appointment or eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 is highly desirable
  • Ongoing vaccination against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough) and hepatitis B
  • Driver's Licence

Salary information

  • Temporary full time (up to 10 months with the possibility of extension)
  • Base salary ranging from $4094.90 - $4406.40 per fortnight
  • Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

About (Early Psychosis Team)

The Early Psychosis Team provides early detection and treatment for young people aged 15 - 25 years who have experienced a first episode of psychosis. There is a developmental focus of care, with an emphasis on assertive therapeutic outreach and holistic care involving families, carers and organisations across the youth sector.
