Data Warehouse Developer

I caught up for coffee with our client recently, who had a pretty good idea of the type of Data Warehouse Developer he was after to join his team. Unfortunately, the budget he had up his sleeve for this role, was not brilliant for the skills he sought, so after a bit of toing and froing and with some time spent with senior business leaders, the outcome was a really positive one, with salary required, matching the expected skills for this position.

The business has recently brought on a bloody good Data Architect, who comes from a strong Analytics background.  This person has previously worked extensively overseas in the cloud and ML space and I reckon will bring in some great perspective as to where this business currently sits and their future state environment.

The shopping list of technical skills I'm about to present to you are are important for this role, but what is just as crucial are the soft skills required. If you're someone who is proactive and can work effectively without little supervision and who challenges the status quo, I think this team would really like to work with you.  In addition, you will have exceptional communication skills, be driven to go and above and beyond, but never take yourself too seriously (smiling and laughing are really good traits).

Technically, you must have strong development skills in SQL Server (any version after 2012), ETL experience and preferably exposure to Java, Python and/or node.js.

My name is Heath Adcock and I specialise in the area of Data and Analytics, something I have enjoyed recruiting in since I placed my first Data Warehouse Consultant the year that Cathy Freeman won her Olympic gold medal - yep, I'm getting old!
