Your role

This role presents the ultimate communications challenge for the right person.

You will be responsible for the operation of cutting-edge radio technology throughout a huge network. Your role is vital to maintaining a reliable flow of information as well as decision making within the Army.

If you're a good communicator with a sense of adventure and a passion for learning new skills, we'll train you to configure, operate and maintain systems that range from radio sets and satellite phones to local area networks.

As an Army Communication Systems Operator your workplace will change from day to day, you’ll be operating in environments such as:

•           Offices on base

•           In 4WDs and armoured vehicles

•           On foot patrol with small teams

•           Airfield command posts

•           Large Navy vessels

In all these locations you'll be providing your commanders with the information they need to plan and carry out their missions successfully.

•           Over $48,000 p.a. plus super while training

•           Over $67,000 p.a. plus super once trained

•           Numerous other benefits

•           Training: Wagga Wagga, NSW and Macleod, VIC

•           Posting: any Army base or unit across Australia

Entry Requirements

•           At least 17 years of age

•           Australian citizen

•           Year 10 passes in English and maths
