Analyst - Pricing and Forecasting

ABOUT THE POSITION

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Analyst to join our team on a full-time basis. Based at our support centre in Salisbury South and reporting to the CFO the roles primary purpose is to support the pricing and forecasting models used within the Group to maximise the integrity of pricing, discounts and forecasting.  The successful incumbent will work as a genuine business partner in order to build an effective and sustainable pricing function and provide value adding insights to decision makers.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Verifying pricing proposals put forward by sales and marketing teams, ensuring they meet predetermined parameters with respect to margins
  • Provide short and long term sales and financial forecasts
  • Effective interpretation and analysis of monthly pricing, trade spend and marketing spend
  • Review sales forecast data, identifying key areas of growth, within business units and brands
  • Manage and recommend periodic pricing updates
  • Backup support for Host Analytics forecasting tool, including loading of data and running ad-hoc reports
  • Assisting all key stakeholders in evaluating and interpreting information, fostering a collaborative culture where people are kept informed and involved

To be successful candidates must have previous experience in forecasting and process/data modelling coupled with detailed pricing, commercial and margin/profitability analysis.  Commercial acumen with the ability to drive mutually beneficial solutions across the Group is essential as is strong verbal and written communication skills.  Advanced computer and financial system skills are required; knowledge of QAD, QlikView or HOST analytics would be an advantage.  Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Finance or a related field is preferred.
