The Shire of Mingenew is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Community Development Officer on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have fantastic interpersonal, communication and networking skills, a passion for helping rural communities to thrive, and the ability to effectively plan concurrent projects and manage multiple deadlines.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this position is responsible for the successful delivery of a range of community programs and projects, as well as ongoing liaison with Mingenew’s numerous community organisations. Mingenew’s recently completed 2019-2029 Strategic Community Plan identified a range of initiatives designed to help Mingenew’s community and local economy develop and grow, and this role will be pivotal in helping to achieve may of those aims. As such, experience in a similar role, as well as a track record of successful grant application and acquittal will be highly regarded.

Remuneration, from $60,000 per annum, plus up to 14.5% superannuation, leave loading and training and development opportunities will be negotiated with the successful candidate based upon their skills and experience. The successful candidate, should they reside in Mingenew, will also be eligible for subsidised accommodation.
