Your opportunity

The College Chaplain is a key senior position at St John’s Anglican College and has overall responsibility for nurturing and sustaining the Christian ethos of the College and building a powerful and positive sense of community in the Anglican tradition.  The incumbent is responsible for Chapel services for students and staff, including opportunities to celebrate the Eucharist, recognise Christian festivals and the seasons of the Church.  The Chaplain will attend school assemblies and special school functions, provide pastoral and spiritual support to students, staff and/or families, support staff in integrating the Christian ethos and Anglican identity into the College culture and encourage and promote student involvement in social justice and other activities organised through the Diocese and other welfare agencies.

You will have a vibrant Christian faith that is consistent with the beliefs and values of the College and an ability to relate to children and young adults.  In order to ensure the College’s Anglican ethos and traditions are upheld, the Chaplain requires accredited qualifications in Theology, Professional qualifications in Education and must be licensed by the Archbishop of Brisbane.  Demonstrated experience within a similar environment is highly desirable.
