Job Summary

This is an exciting career opportunity for a Manager Sentence Management to join the new Serco Correctional Centre in Grafton. The Clarence Correctional Centre is due to open mid-2020 with a 1700 bed facility, making it the largest and most state-of-the-art Correctional Centre in Australia. About the opportunity

The key purpose of the Manager Sentence Management is to lead all sentence administration, case management, classification and placement activities of the Clarence Correctional Centre. You will be responsible for ensuring the lawful detention of inmates, the consideration of inmate rehabilitation pathway activities when making recommendations on security classification and placement to reduce the risk of re-offending and address individual needs. You will provide senior managers with advice on risks, trends and issues in the Centre that impact on service delivery, as well as preparing scheduled reports of performance deficits and practice improvement strategies. As an integral part of the leadership team you will contribute to promoting the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates as part of the case management function, whilst adhering to Serco’s Values, Code of Conduct and key operating principles in every interaction with staff, internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will

● Relevant tertiary qualification in Criminology, Social Work, Social Sciences or relevant industry experience in a similar role
● Have experience working in an institutionalised environment
● Have demonstrated experience in case management, classification placement, sentence administration practices, interpretation & application of legislation, policy and procedures in an operational environment
● Be experienced in researching and using performance data to analyse, investigate and interpret trends
● Have proven experience in maintaining a quality assurance framework that affirms process integrity and contributes to quality standards
● Have a proven ability to maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
● Demonstrate the highest level of personal integrity and ethical behaviour, whilst having sound judgement and interpersonal skills
● Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
