Human Resources Manager

Job Location | East Gippsland

Bairnsdale and surrounding suburbs are part of the largest city in the East Gippsland Region (45,000+ population) where it offers iconic tourist attractions such as Ninety Mile Beach and The Great Alpine Road. The region also offers a wide range of activities which include sailing, boating, fishing, horse riding, walks, drives, snow skiing or wine tasting.

Our Client - 4th Generation Family Farm

Our client is one of Australia’s leading vegetable growers with ten farms located across the beautiful Lindenow Valley, where an exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Human Resources Manager.

The Position

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful applicant will confidently provide generalist HR advice and manage all aspects of human resources within this culturally diverse workforce.

We are not seeking you to be a ‘bull out of the gate’ and implement immediate change. On the contrary we are seeking a professional who wants to take the time to understand the agriculture industry, enjoy working within an established framework and possess a nurturing attitude. Key duties of the role will include:

  • Recruitment, learning and development, performance management and workforce planning
  • Employment contracts, job descriptions, inductions and on-boarding of all new employees
  • Corporate governance including process and policy reviews in line with legislative requirements
  • Provide expert advice, support and direction to employees and executive management as required
  • Be part of the OHS Committee including updating procedures and policies
  • Undertake various administration tasks (reporting, award updates and miscellaneous tasks)
  • Happy to consider either a full-time or part-time permanent application

The Successful Applicant

You will be an individual who wants to join a growing family business that values respect, safety and accountability. In addition, we require:

  • Diploma or tertiary qualification in either Human Resources, Business or a Related Discipline
  • Agricultural, horticultural or conservation industry experience would be highly regarded
  • Computer literacy - MS Office Suite Products
  • Expertise knowledge across key areas such as workplace legislation, workcover, modern award interpretation, contract negotiation, visa requirements, policy development, industrial relations, workforce planning and learning and development programs
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety
  • Excellent administration and diary management skills
  • Small re-location package may be on offer for a suitable applicant

The Offer

In return for your expertise we can offer you a competitive salary package, great working conditions, supportive and friendly environment, task diversity and either full-time or part-time hours.
