Senior HR Business Partner

The Role
The Human Resources (HR) team partners with senior leaders and managers to enable and enhance performance across the business through building people capability and improving employee engagement. The HR team operates within a well-established Business Partnership model that delivers generalist HR activities and strategic priorities.

We are looking for an experienced and engaging senior HR professional to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating and maintaining positive partnerships with members of the Senior Leadership Group (SLG) and people managers to ensure strategic and operational HR initiatives are aligned to support the needs of the business.
  • Working with the HR team and stakeholders to deliver meaningful cultural change that supports a focus on technology enhancement and educational renewal programs.
  • While challenging the status quo, you will provide expert advice and support to client group leaders and managers across the range of HR activity including HR policy guidance and interpretation; workforce planning and recruitment, remuneration, employment relations, performance management, development and all other HR activities;
  • Providing guidance, support and input on workplace change and business unit restructures;
  • Partnering with managers and staff to improve working relationships, build engagement, increase productivity and retention;
  • Identifying training needs for the business and supporting the design, development, evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs;
  • Analysing trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to continuously improve people solutions, programs and policies;
  • Providing support on the research, design and development of HR initiatives in support of organisational strategy; and
  • Promoting engagement with the HR function and related initiatives across the business.

The Successful Candidate
In addition to relevant tertiary qualifications and proven extensive (10+ years) working as a HR generalist or business partner, you will also possess:

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience across the full suite of HR disciplines including remuneration, recruitment, employee relations, change management, organisational development, performance management, staff engagement and development.
  • Demonstrable analytical skills with the ability to generate insights and suggest pragmatic solutions to inform business decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with highly developed IT skills and a detailed understanding and exposure to Human Resource Information Systems.
  • Strong conflict management and influencing skills.
  • A developed understanding of employment matters (Australia and New Zealand).
