About the role

 

Brand new role as  we are expanding our customer base in Darwin, and plan to open in the Winnellie area.  This role will suit a self-motivated, 'hands on" individual who enjoys the variety of warehousing duties and deliveries, plus enjoys working on their own.  Our valued client is also in the facility as the retail and customer facing side of the business - but you must enjoy being on your own.

The role requires someone who is physically fit and capable of heavy lifting, including some repetitive lifting.  (Must be able to handle 20 - 30kg whilst observing safe lifting practices) and who has  demonstrated experience in a similar role.

This is a permanent full-time role and operating Mon-Fri during business hours.

Start Date will be in November, plus there will a minimum of 1 weeks training in our Hindmarsh S.A Branch (travel expenses covered by R&J Batteries)

 

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • General warehousing duties, goods inwards and outwards
  • Loading /unloading of trucks & containers
  • Forklift operations, regular stock-takes
  • Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy  and safe 
  • Checking and charging batteries(training provided)
  • Pick, load and deliver  batteries 
  • Using In House Computer Systems
  • Manage old/ageing stock through LIFO

 

 

About YOU

 

  • Previous experience within a warehouse is essential
  • Current forklift licence is essential
  • Current manual car licence is essential 
  • Confident and able to work on your own,  plan your workload
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift and handle batteries
  • Willing to do manual lifting and picking/packing orders
  • You have good computer skills 
  • Reliable, punctual and trustworthy

 

 

The successful applicant will be required to complete a criminal history check, pre-employment medical and driving history check. The Company also conducts random drug and alcohol testing

 

Any previous experience in the battery or automotive trade will be highly regarded, however you will be offered support and training to learn more about batteries and our range of products
