The Opportunity

Kempsey Shire Council is seeking to recruit a full time Executive Officer to provide high level executive administration and program/project support to the Director Operations and Planning.

The purpose of the role is to provide business support across a range of program/project deliverables therefore the successful applicant will possess a range of administrative skills with the competence and confidence in using a range of systems, in particular, Microsoft Office.  You should hold a Certificate IV in Business Administration or related discipline, and previous experience in a similar Executive Officer role in the public or private sector would be an advantage.

 Key accountabilities

  • Acting as the Executive point of contact for the Department and Director Operations and Planning.
  • Coordinating development of and reporting on Directorate strategic and operational planning activities.
  • Managing Directorate wide programs/projects and initiatives as required.
  • Coordinating with various departmental staff to ensure timelines are met for specific projects, events, audits and Council budget preparation.
  • Liaising with executive level internal and external stakeholders to organise meetings and prepare correspondence and travel.
