Regional Support Officer

At Defence Housing Australia (DHA), we provide quality housing and related services to Defence members and families. DHA’s award winning work supports Defence capability.

As Regional Support Officer you will be responsible for the successful service delivery of P&TS operational and client based services and solutions within your region. As a member of the regional P&TS management team, you will be responsible for reporting, resource allocation, asset management, budgeting, human resources and the delivery of client relations in the region.

Reporting to the Regional Director, you will ensure that all operational metrics are measured and achieved in line with the overall strategies of the region. The role dictates a strong requirement to synthesise data across multiple business lines and undertake analysis within the context of a broad understanding of how DHA delivers its services and a sound understanding of the DHA environment and culture.

In every aspect of your work, this role will operate with a strong customer centred focus and approach. You will work closely with all stakeholders to build a cohesive and consistent approach to service delivery through strong client relations and complaints management. You will maintain and exercise an understanding of customer behaviour and its implications for service delivery and resourcing.

You will be responsible for providing expertise in a range of programs and activities for the region, providing accurate and specialised advice and ensuring knowledge of and compliance with relevant legislation and policy frameworks. This includes the responsibility for setting priorities and ensuring quality of outputs for the work area, contributing to business improvement strategies and to change in workplace practices.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Demonstrated ability to interpret, apply and provide accurate advice regarding relevant legislation and policy frameworks.

• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with team members, clients and stakeholders and to respond to issues with professionalism and sensitivity.

• Demonstrated financial and business acumen in a commercial environment including expenditure analysis, human resource management, business improvements and reporting against KPIs.

• Demonstrated experience working independently and an ability to effectively manage competing workloads and rapidly changing priorities.

• Demonstrated effective communication skills (interpersonal, oral and written).

Some of the benefits of working at DHA include:

• generous employee benefits with a competitive salary packing, including performance bonus
• employer superannuation contribution of up to 15.4%
• flexible work arrangements, including family friendly provisions
• benefits of working for the APS, while in an outcome focused Government Business Enterprise
• a diverse range of interesting projects in high performing and collaborative work environment.

To apply, please submit an online application including a statement of claims (with a maximum of 500 words in total) detailing your skills and experience relevant to the duty statement along with a current resume.
