Operations Officer - Banking Services

About the Role

The purpose of this position within the Banking Services team is to ensure that customer requests from Branches and other departments are processed in an efficient and accurate method. The Operations Officer works within the Banking Services team providing administration support in relation to Audits, Government Compliance and various other administration tasks.

These include deceased estates, stationery requests, interest adjustments, unclaimed monies, token management, insolvency requests, armaguard settlement & reconciliation, withholding tax refunds, government compliance and accountable forms.

Your key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Processing all requests accurately and within a timely manner
  • Following up and clearing items in suspense accounts daily
  • Assisting BOQ Branches with queries
  • Representing the bank in a professional manner when dealing with all other Financial Institutions and Government Agencies
  • Ensuring all work is processed within the agreed SLA’s and any breaches escalated promptly
  • Ensuring reporting issues or inaccuracies are immediately attend to and resolved within required time frames
  • Establishing and attending to the ongoing maintenance of files and records
  • Completing any duties as directed by Team Leader/Manager.

 

About You

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven customer service orientation
  • Previous Banking/Branch experience is preferred
  • Substantial knowledge of the Bank’s general banking operations
  • Working knowledge of Windows (Word, Excel) programs
  • Sound knowledge of industry obligations
  • Ability to work within a team to achieve results
  • Strong communication skills.
