APS4 Claims Manager

Our client is a high profile Federal Government Department. We are currently looking for an experienced Claims Manager to join their team at the APS4 level on an ongoing contract with a view to promote to APS5, commencing ASAP! With multiple roles available, this opportunity is not one you are going to want to miss!

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Claims Manager working in the Permanent Impairment Injury division within this Department, this role provides you with a chance to make the real difference in the life of vulnerable people in our community. Strong customer service background is essential for success in this role.

Key responsibilities for the role may include but aren’t limited to:

  • Facilitate payment of compensation benefits and manage the rehabilitation of serving, medically discharged and other eligible clients under the Rehabilitation & Compensation Provisions.
  • Undertake a provision of services management role in relation to the performance of external provider organisations, in the provision of benefits to MRCA & SRCA clients.
  • Liaise with clients, claims teams, rehabilitation providers, training providers, treating doctors and employers regarding the management of compensation claims, retraining and/or return to work issues. Liaise with the above for provision of aids and appliances, modifications, alterations to home and or workplaces, suitable duties, and quality of life issues.
  • Develop, implement and monitor systems, policies and procedures in respect of early intervention strategies, clients’ return to durable employment, and improved quality of life.
  • Prepare and conduct presentations, courses and seminars in relation to all compensation and benefits. Contribute to the TIP program.

ABOUT YOU

The essential requirements for this role are:

  • Demonstrated prior experience in a similar role, even slightly more junior level within a Government Department, a background in health or medical considered desirable but not essential
  • Demonstrated experience giving exeptional customer service in a similar position
  • Knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire knowledge of new legislations and guidelines. For the right candidate, full training on Departmental relevant legislations will be provided
  • Analytical and written communication skills and the ability to prepare detailed reports on findings, recommendations and comments arising from investigations
  • Willingness to learn and grow within your role, ability to adapt and learn new things quickly and clear confident communication both verbal and written is absolutely essential to your success for the role
