APS5 Program Administrator

APS5 Program Administrative Support Officer required for a central Government Department in Canberra.

Your new company
This Federal Government department is responsible for the development and implementation of key ecological policies and procedures.

Your new role
Joining a high performing team, the department is seeking a skilled Program Support Administration Officer to provide administrative support to their colleagues.
Your role will see you contribute at a high level of communication to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders within the organisation.

You will provide administrative support of the Programme and Project Managers including:

  • Program monitoring.
  • Program assurance activities.
  • Collating and analysing data.
  • Monitoring and assessing risk, updating risk plan.
  • Complaints and incidents.
  • Ministerial Correspondence responses.
  • Maintaining records and electronic filing.


What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience with managing and prioritising tasks within set time-frames and showing a strong ability to demonstrate initiative and responsiveness will lead to your success in this role.
You will bring your strong communication skills to liaise widely and develop productive working relationships.


It is highly desired that the successful candidate have a background in water conservation and/or a biology background and/or sound scientific understanding of Australian Waterways.


In addition the ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • High level written communication skills with experience writing ministerial correspondence, policy or briefs for federal government
  • A high degree of flexibility and innate ability to multi task.
  • Will be willing to obtain a Police Check or have a police check conducted in the last 6 months.
  • Will possess a current or be willing to go through the process to successfully pass an Australian Federal Police background check.
