Bioresources Technician and Lab Support

The Opportunity 

The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to provide functional support to the research activities undertaken at the Bioresources Centre and Laboratories within the Telethon Kids Institute, a state of the art facility focusing on children’s health.

The Role

This position provides routine cleaning and sterilisation of equipment, resources and facilities used in laboratory animal husbandry for the Bioresources Centre and Laboratories which is dedicated to finding cures for childhood diseases.

We have 2 Part Time roles (both 0.4 FTE) available for a fixed term of 12 months with the possibility of extension. This is flexible for the right candidate. Remuneration includes access to generous salary packaging, and a supportive environment is offered. This position will be required to work some of the Christmas shutdown period.

Your Experience

  • At least Year 12 completion

  • Experience in hospital sterile services is essential

  • Sound administration skills including computer literacy and database management (or ability to pick this up)

  • Ability to work as an effective member of a team, as well as independently with minimal supervision.

  • Good understanding of safety procedures

  • Great attention to detail
