RMC - Trainee Train Controller

 As a Trainee Train Controller you will learn to control, coordinate and record the movement of trains and on–track vehicles across the Queensland Rail network. This role provides a specific training pathway to become a qualified Train Controller with Queensland Rail.  Training encompasses intensive 25 week training program with classroom based learning and on the job training.  It is a requirement of the role that you successfully complete all training and assessment criteria across a range of learning modules through this time. 

This is a challenging and rewarding career where you will need:

  • To commit to working a 24/7 roster
  • The ability to follow direct instructions for operating a safe and efficient railway
  • Confidence to take responsibility for the safe efficient management of the rail network
  • The ability to remain vigilant and attentive for long periods of time
  • Assist in the administrative duties associated with network control operations
  • The ability to remain calm and work effectively when dealing with challenging situations
  • The ability to work autonomously and within a team. Strong communication skills

The recruitment and selection process for this position will require shortlisted applicants to undertake psychometric assessment and a pre-employment health assessment.  Successful candidates will also need to provide a national criminal history check (at your own cost).
