Mechanical Engineer-Supply Chain

GME designs, engineers, manufactures and distributes world-class radio communication equipment including; two-way radio communications, marine electronics, emergency locator beacons, telemetry and data radio products.

We are now seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will be working for the Supply Chain Department for testing, verification and maintenance of procured parts for compliance both for internal specification and as per Industry Standards.

 

The Mechanical Engineer - Supply Chain is responsible for: 

  • Developing specifications and performance test requirements to facilitate procurement of parts.
  • Evaluating and testing of procured parts for compliance to specification and industry standards.
  • Consult with engineering personnel to establish performance criteria and specifications for manufacturing and testing of procured parts.
  • Evaluation, testing and compliance to company and legislative standards, including certification, documentation etc.
  • Remain up to date with the latest and emerging technologies and applications.
  • Seek out industry best practice standards for continual professional development

 

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role(s).
  • Experience designing/working with metal and plastic components.
  • Experience with testing of mechanical components to ascertain durability.
  • Familiar with requirements for automotive accessories and industry standards.
  • Must be proficient with using Solid Works.
  • Needs to have a hands-on attitude with an ability to ‘get things done’.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoy working with a collaborative team and in a technically challenging environment.
  • A commitment to best practices, continuous improvement and customer focus.
