Football Queensland (FQ) is the affiliated FIFA and FFA representative governing body for Queensland.  It is charged with all facets of football in Queensland including semi-professional, amateurs, women, youth, juniors, referees.  It is also responsible for the administration, promotion and delivery of football and futsal across the state. We hold an enviable position with the highest participation numbers of any sporting code in Australia.

FQ is excited to be recruiting for an ambitious and astute Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organisation to continued and future success.

You will be supported by an experienced Board, dedicated Executive team and some 80,000 registered participants all of whom have an expectation of unprecedented growth and value.

Football (the World Game) has an amazing opportunity over the next 10 years in Australia.  FQ must meet this opportunity by driving participation growth, unifying the football family, developing infrastructure, supporting clubs and the community, showcasing events, developing pathways and making the game affordable and available for all.

Exceptional communication skills are being sought from the incoming CEO. Your ability to communicate proactively both internally and externally will be essential to foster a collaborative culture, uniting stakeholders and the greater footballing community at large.

You will be responsible for building and strengthening trusted relationships with state and federal government departments, local councils, channel partners, sponsors, media, dignitaries and most importantly our grass roots participants and volunteers.

As a values-based leader with high emotional intelligence, you will engage, motivate, and support the FQ team, developing a cohesive collaborative and respectful environment whilst ensuring the objectives and priorities are articulated and understood effectively throughout the organisation.

Demonstrating through action, with the high expectations and accountability you set for yourself, you will develop an outcome driven, performance based positive culture that attracts, develops, rewards, and retains a high calibre team all working toward a common set of goals, vision, and values.

You must have strong financial and operational management experience, with a proven record of accomplishment for delivering diverse multiple projects within budget, on time, every time.

With a focus on continuous development and a passion for ‘Football’, we are looking for an ambitious yet humble innovative leader whose personal attributes include integrity, curiosity, courage, pride and respect.

You will be degree qualified and experienced in working with and reporting directly to a Board of Directors. You will have a minimum of 10 years senior sports administration / senior management experience within a sporting organisation. Your growth mindset will see you embrace the direction and opportunities ahead for ‘football in Queensland’ whilst you develop the operational capability to deliver upon the strategic priorities.
